Our vision at Blue Oasis Veterinary Clinic is to provide veterinary care in a stress-free and accessible manner for both owners and pets. That is why we are proud to provide house calls in the vicinity of our branches in DIP and D2, bringing caring, professional veterinary services right to your door.

Not all pets enjoy a visit to a veterinary practice. Some are extremely anxious in cars, while others get upset in a hospital environment. Older animals, post-surgery patients, or animals with ongoing conditions can have mobility problems resulting in travel being painful or even potentially dangerous. Our house call service exists specifically for these circumstances.

Whether your dog faces mobility issues, your cat goes into hiding from a glimpse of a carrier, our house call service can provide the perfect solution. You can have peace of mind knowing your pet will be seen and treated in a comfortable, stress-free atmosphere in your own home, reducing stress levels while increasing comfort.

Why Choose a House Call Veterinarian?

There are numerous reasons why pet owners are opting for veterinary house calls as a preferred form of care. A house call isn’t solely a convenience—it’s a caring alternative for pets with difficulties with travel, change, or overstimulation.

By visiting your pet in his or her home environment, our veterinarians can also acquire useful information about behavior, mobility problems, or environmental stimuli not necessarily apparent in a clinical exam.

On the other hand not all diagnostic tools are available in your house, that would be at hand in the clinic. It is important, that you are aware of the fact, that this might delay a possible diagnosis or – if the use of an immobile diagnostic tool is unavoidable (x-ray, MRI, CT, etc) a visit to the clinic later on might still be necessary.

What to Expect During a House Call?

When you schedule a house call appointment with Blue Oasis Veterinary Clinic, we want to make your experience with us as smooth and comforting as can be for you and your pet.

Here’s how a standard house call operates:

  • First consultation: We begin with a conversation regarding your pet’s medical history, symptoms at this time, as well as any behavioral concerns or environmental issues. That ensures our examination and recommendations can be made specifically suitable for your pet.
  • To make the house call a pleasant experience for you, your beloved pet and our team, we have to ask you to catch and keep the pet in a smaller room (e.g. bathroom) so that it hasn’t be searched for or caught after out team has arrived at your place. This would waste precious time and also frighten the pet.
  • Physical exam: Your pet will be examined the same way as it would be in the clinic.
  • Procedures done routinely: Most conventional veterinary procedures can be completed at a home visit, such as vaccinating, taking blood for blood work later done in the clinic, applying or administering medication and managing chronic illness.
  • Follow-up guidelines: After your exam, we’ll give you definite next steps. If you need additional testing or imaging (such as X-rays or ultrasounds), we’ll get you scheduled for a visit to one of our clinics, and we can even provide transport for your pet if necessary.

We keep you informed at every step during the visit, taking care to fully explain your pet’s condition and care regimen.

FAQ’s

Frequently Asked Questions

Your pet can be seen wherever they are most comfortable. For small animals like a cat or toy-breed dog, a solid surface like a coffee or kitchen table usually makes a great spot. For a medium to large dog, the exam is usually done either on the floor, bed, or couch—where your pet feels comfortable and relaxed. Our staff is trained to accommodate at-home settings and will ensure your pet’s comfort and safety above throughout the visit.

Various procedures can be carried out at home. Numerous routine care procedures as well as preventative care can be done during a house call. They include

  • Physical examinations
  • Annual Vaccinations
  • Blood withdrawal
  • Parasite prevention
  • Treatment for minor ailments
  • Management of chronic diseases

More complicated procedures involving diagnostic imaging or surgeries have to be done in our clinic. Transport can be arranged if this is a problem.

Urgent or life-threatening situations are not addressed through house calls! If your pet can’t breathe properly, is bleeding uncontrolled, is unconscious, having a seizure, or has experienced severe trauma, get them to the closest veterinary clinic right away. If you are not sure if you are dealing with a life-threatening situation please contact us at any time, we will help you determine if your pet must be rushed to the hospital or if we can provide stability at your residence. Prompt care in a crisis is essential.

While our mobile veterinary team can perform a lot of our regular procedures within your home, imaging technologies such as X-rays, ultrasounds, and MRIs need to be done in a facility with our specialty equipment. If your pet necessitates those tests and your pet cannot move or you cannot provide transport yourself, our staff can arrange logistics and provide your pet with necessary care with minimal stress.

Yes, whenever possible, we are more than happy to honor requests for a particular vet from our staff, particularly if your pet has a continuing relationship with one of our veterinarians. Continuity of care makes a difference in medical precision and your pet’s comfort level. That said, because of schedules, vacations or emergencies, this may not be possible at all times. Rest at ease, however, because each member of our veterinary team is extremely skilled, caring, and dedicated to excellent care during your house call visit.
