Do dogs sweat?
Dogs do sweat, but from completely different places than humans do. The canine skin and armpit have no sweat glands. Instead, dogs sweat through their feet and from the pads under their feet. Panting is their main method of ridding themselves for heat. Take care of your dog. Preventing heat stroke is essential. This is especially important in bulldogs, pugs and all other breeds with compromised respiration. They have a higher risk of overheating because they don’t breathe very efficiently.

Can dogs see colors?
Dogs have the rods and cones that allow color vision, but their retina is quite different from ours. Dogs see a very muted version of that what we see. They see more gray shades than colors.

A seizure is caused by an excessive stimulation of the brain parts which control muscle activity. The possibility of seizure exists in all animals. There are many causes for seizures: toxic chemicals, hypoglycemia, head trauma, epilepsy, brain masses and many more. Dogs with seizures should be taken to the vet. It may be possible to break the uncontrolled stimulation. The dog should always be fully examined after this “explosion”. Great care should be taken when touching them.

Puppies are like human babies. Not much is known about how their brain develops, but playing and sleeping is essential for the neural connections. Your little dog should have as much sleep as he likes. Puppies should be active and playing when awake. If you are worried about your puppy's sleeping or behavior, you should take him to see the doctor.

What age is good to go to the groomer?
It is best to wait until after the puppy has been vaccinated. This is to avoid the possibility of infection from exposure to other dogs. Until the dog is old enough to go to the professional groomer, you can take care of his hair and nails yourself. Your veterinarian can advise you how to clip the nails.

Keep the pet clean and let him/her checked out for worms regularly. We can deworm your dog and help you prevent them from getting worms again

Is it normal that my puppy's teeth are falling out?
Yes. Just like humans, puppies have “baby teeth”. To make room for the adult teeth, these first teeth fall out around 3 ½ months after birth. Make sure the baby tooth has fallen out whenever you notice a new tooth coming in. If it hasn’t fallen out, it needs to be pulled.

Keep him clean! There are several effective products which are generally easy to use – a liquid that is easily applied to the skin between the shoulders. The medicine kills ticks and fleas for a month or longer. All these products are very safe and veterinarian approved. Collars and powders purchased at pet shops are not always as effective against ticks and fleas.
